TFE LIVE: Was the sentence handed down in Federal Court on Wednesday to former Stanford Sailing coach John Vandemoer too light, too heavy or about right?

Friday, June 14, 2019

UPDATE – Click here to watch a replay.

SAN FRANCISCO (#1146) – Denise Ross Petersen (Newport Beach, CA) says too light; Jay Handfield (Newport, RI) thinks it was about right. They will join me live via Skype for today's (Friday) TFE LIVE to discuss the pros and cons, and bigger-picture ramifications for college sailing and beyond. We will also have video news reports from CBS and NBC, including an interview with Mr Vandemoer's attorney on why he thought the sentence was so much lighter than many expected, including the prosecutors. As always, our Coordinating Producer Julia Wedekind (Stanford '60) will be standing by to take your comments and questions, so please join us for what should be an interesting and constructive debate – as always on our Sailing Illustrated Facebook page at 1300 Pacific / 1600 Easter / 2000 UTC, or watch a replay there later.
