VOR: Nice twelve-minute video recap of the 2017/18 race

SAN FRANCISCO (#1060) – Per the text that accompanied the VNR (video news release) with this latest video from VOR media, "After more than 45,000 nautical miles and 12 cities visited in eight months of competition, three teams would start the final sprint leg of the Volvo Ocean Race effectively tied, with the eventual winner, Dongfeng Race Team, only securing victory in the final moments. There has never been a dull moment, the competition has always been tight and the results open until the very end. It was the closest finish in the history of the race, and marked the first victory for a Chinese-flagged team. As the ultimate test of a team in sport, the 13th edition of the race delivered challenges, emotions, and highs and lows to all the sailors and teams. This video captures all of the action and emotion."

It's a nice video wrap-up with good voice-over and music. A fast-paced but thorough summary in a documentary style without the histrionics of the VOR's live commentary. I only wish the gentleman doing the voice-over would get the pronunciation of Simeon Tienpont's surname right – it's TEEN-pont not TEEN-point. A small, er, point on what is otherwise an enjoyable video, well worth watching whether or not you followed the race.
