Irma's incursion: Watch a replay of Sunday morning's FB Live with SI's severe weather expert Mark Michaelsen – direct hit expected on Naples and Tampa, FL

Sunday, September 10, 2017

SAN FRANCISCO – Watch a replay of TFE's Facebook Live interview from Sunday morning with SI's extreme weather guru Mark Michaelsen over on my personal Facebook page here. We've already had over 1000 views. Early this morning Irma's eye passed over the Florida Keys, decimating Marathon and Key West. Now the storm is roaring up the west coast of Florida heading for a direct hit on Naples, and then, likely, badly impacting one of the USA's great sailing venues – Tampa Bay. Because the storm is so huge, the winds are also driving storm surge that is flooding Florida's east coast from Miami north. The good news: Hurricane Jose, that had been following in Irma's track, has turned north sparing the islands of the eastern Caribbean another horrific hit.
