WMRT Match Cup Chicago: Friday eye candy courtesy of Michele Almeida

CHICAGO – The World Match Racing Tour is in Chicago this weekend. Friday's blustery conditions on Lake Michigan made for some great photos. Super snapper Michele Almeida sent your Ed. some of her favorites, including the capsize by Team Neptune skippered by Sam Gilmour (AUS), son of AC veteran and several time match-racing world champion Peter Gilmour. Defending WMRT winner Phil Robertson (NZL) was leading at the end of Friday, and OTUSA's Andrew Campbell (USA, San Diego) had a good day in his first appearance in a WMRT event sailing "Heart of America." (Team name sound familiar? That was also Chicago's 1987 America's Cup team representing Chicago Yacht Club skippered by Buddy Melges.) Full story on the WMRT website here.
