SoCal 300: Heading for the barn, MIGHTY MERLOE, INVISIBLE HAND and ASZHOU leading

SOCAL 300 WX UPDATE FROM MARK MICHAELSEN: Sundowner northerlies crushed the incoming westerly yesterday and left many tacticians and weather routers wondering what the hell happened to the breeze? A frustrating seven hours left many teams right at the edge of the NW breeze lane without being able to hook into the 20-25 knots of pressure just to their SW. Those lucky enough to hook in to the breeze lane early are about to hit THE EDDY WALL and come to a grinding halt. The fleet will compress from behind and around 1045 PDT the boats will start making meaningful progress again toward the barn (Pt Loma/San Diego).

You can watch it all unfold on the SoCal 300 race tracker here. Below is what it looked like a few minutes ago. That's MIGHTY MERLOE, the ORMA 60 cat in the lead, followed by the PAC 52 INVISIBLE HAND (green) and the RP63 ASZHOU (pink) in second and third overall....
