AC36/SailGP Breaking: Taylor Canfield (USA) of Stars+Stripes Team USA joins the American SailGP Team; will also continue with his Cup team while gaining valuable foiling experience

Monday, February 4, 2019

SYDNEY (#1171) – The esteemed Associated Press sports reporter Bernie Wilson (USA, San Diego) has just penned a wire story now running on the Washington Post website and beyond, breaking the news that:

In an interesting crossover, Taylor Canfield of the America’s Cup challenger Stars+Stripes Team USA has joined the U.S. team in the fledgling SailGP league just two weeks before the inaugural regatta in Sydney, Australia. The U.S. SailGP team announced the addition of Canfield as flight controller-tactician a day after launching its 50-foot foiling catamaran on Sydney Harbor. The opening regatta in the six-country league is Feb. 15-16.

Read the initial story here, soon to be updated with details (same link) or so we hear from Bernie.
