Dorade takes second in its divisions at Rolex Sydney Hobart Yacht Race [As Bruce Kirby said, "Olin would be very proud."]

Australian sailor Jimmy Spithill's desperation for a win was the reason for a protest deciding the Sydney to Hobart Yacht race, Kiwi Matt Mason says.

Jimmy Spithill has returned fire at Kiwi sailor Matt Mason, accusing him of lacking sportsmanship following his controversial comments after the Sydney to Hobart yacht race.

90-year old Gordon Ingate, with a 75-year history of yacht racing, has said Wild Oats XI should have been disqualified from the Sydney to Hobart for a manoeuvre that ultimately cost it line honours.

Video: Some 46 years later the restored KIALOA II has returned to the race under the ownership of Paddy and Keith Broughton and - despite breaking her boom barely halfway to Hobart - completed the 630 nautical mile course six hours faster than her Line Honours winning time in 1971 when owned, and skippered, by the late, great Jim Kilroy (USA).

Video: The 73rd Rolex Sydney Hobart will be remembered primarily for a record breaking run by Jim Cooney's LDV COMANCHE and the overall win by one of the sport’s great stalwarts – Matt Allen, owner of ICHI BAN. It will also be remembered for the epic downwind conditions experienced on the second and third days, which enabled the planing boats to demonstrate their prowess....

Video: Finally, this MUST SEE video for AC fans featuring Grant Simmer (AUS), newly ensconced CEO of Land Rover BAR (GBR), opining on the radical foiling monohull ("AC 75") put forward by the Defender and Challenger of Record as the yacht for the 2021 America's Cup. The most cogent description of this yacht that your Ed. has yet seen, in this video courtesy of World Sailing....
